Microclimate

The Legislative Decree 81/2008 specifies that the microclimate falls among the physical agents that can pose health risks to workers and therefore imposes the obligation for the Employer to assess the Microclimate Risk present in the workplace.

With the publication of Legislative Decree 81/2008, the microclimate has been identified as a physical risk agent. In addition, the application of specific technical standards in the sector allows for a quantitative risk assessment by adopting the most appropriate prevention and protection measures. These standards vary according to the thermal environment considered.

The microclimate risk assessment service offered by AGE web solutions, through its qualified technicians, consists of consulting for the assessment of Microclimate Risk both in the presence of moderate microclimate and in the presence of severe microclimate:

  • Moderate (moderate environments e.g. offices, manufacturing companies)
  • Severe Heat (hot environments e.g. companies with heat treatment activities, furnaces)
  • Severe Cold (cold environments e.g. refrigerated cells, food storage)

The assessment will be carried out using measurements (using the most suitable instrument depending on the considered work environments) in accordance with the provisions of the reference standards.

The microclimate risk assessment aims to keep the body thermoregulation mechanisms of workers stable and functional, protecting those at greater risk (such as pregnant women or people with chronic illnesses) and preventing the onset of diseases related to staying in harsh environments.

The environmental microclimate will be assessed, and in addition to the risk calculation, a possible improvement plan will be defined with interventions aimed at achieving thermal comfort.

The AGE web experts will detect all parameters related to microclimate risk, so they will not limit themselves to measuring temperatures in the workplaces, but will also take into account the humidity of the air or the presence of drafts.
