Radon Risk

The regulation governing the topic of radon in Italy is Legislative Decree 230/95 as amended by Legislative Decree 241/00. The two decrees, in addition to Legislative Decree 81/08, require employers who employ personnel in underground workplaces to assess the Radon Risk or to have the dose of Radon received through inhalation evaluated.

The obligation to assess exposure to radon, which we remind is a radioactive gas, applies from the moment workers remain in underground or semi-underground environments (with at least three walls in contact with the ground) for no less than 10 hours per month. In addition to the activities mentioned above, this requirement also applies to nurseries, kindergartens, and compulsory elementary and secondary schools, if located (even partially) in underground places.

The service offered by AGE web solutions, through its qualified technicians, consists of consulting for the assessment of the risk of exposure to Radon. The assessment includes the calculation of radon risk in workplaces as well as the necessary measurements. The assessment will be carried out through sampling with appropriate equipment according to the provisions of the reference standards.

Following the radon risk assessment, a risk assessment document (DVR) is issued, both in paper format and in electronic format through the 626 Suite software.

In addition, each customer will also be provided with a software license called “Radon” which allows the customer to automatically update, over time, the document created by the consultants of AGE web solutions, namely the DVR Radon.
